About the PVI Exam
The RPVI credential is earned by passing the Physicians' Vascular Interpretation (PVI) examination which is offered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Beginning in November of 2013, the PVI exam is offered only during specific times of the year:
The RPVI eCourse is modeled after the live RPVI seminar. Course registration for a live course allows you to attend the course only once, and not return to the next offering of the course for free. But, in creating the Pegasus Direct player for our eCourses, we wanted to give additional features to our customers, one of which is the ability to create a customized review. So, after you have viewed the entire eCourse, you have additional viewing time for review (75% of the entire course).
The core material of the RPVI eCourse is 23.5 hours of viewing. While viewing the eCourse, the participant can bookmark areas of weakness to create an optional customized review. The RPVI review time is an additional 17.5 hours. (Example: if a module is 2 hours in length, an additional 1.5 hours is included for review for a total of 3.5 hrs viewing for that particular module.) Click here to view the list of modules and viewing times. The total viewing time for the RPVI core concepts and optional review is 41.0 hours. If you desire additional instruction on a particular topic, we can reset up to three modules at no additional cost.
If you are interrupted for a brief period, pause the player and resume viewing when you are ready. If you must leave for an extended period of time, simply close and exit the program. The player will remember the section you last viewed so you can resume viewing upon return.
In order to maximize efficiency during your review, we have included a feature on the control bar called the playlist. The playlist provides details of the topics covered in each module by time code and subject, allowing you to bookmark any areas in which you have a weakness or that are of particular interest. The player will recall your bookmarks, allowing you to return when you are ready to review. Simply click on your bookmarked topics to complete your review. You can review immediately after watching a module or wait until you have completed the entire course and use the review time as a capstone review – it’s your choice.
If, after completing all of the viewing and review time, you find that you are still having difficulty with some of the concepts within the module, we can reset up to three modules of the entire course at no additional cost. However, if after completing the review you wish to reset more than three modules, there is a fee to cover associated costs.
There is not a date expiration on the eCourse. You can view on your schedule, at your pace. After you have completed both the viewing and review time of a module, your Account Summary will indicate Time Expired for that particular module. As indicated above, if you desire additional instruction on a particular topic, we can reset up to three modules at no additional cost. (It is rare for participants to use all of the optional review time.)
Yes, The RPVI Review eCourse, created by Pegasus Lectures, the Society for Vascular surgery and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound is approved for a maximum of 41 AMA PRA Category 1 credits. These credits are accepted by the ARDMS.

Yes, the RPVI speakers have graciously allowed their PowerPoint presentations to be available to the participants in a downloadable, PDF format. Additionally, the player has a note-taking feature which allows you to write and print notes while you are viewing the eCourse.
Because of the comprehensive nature of the RPVI exam, many physicians purchase an RPVI package to assist in their exam preparation. By purchasing materials in a package, significant discounts are realized.
