I want to <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/ecourses.php\">have a life<\/a>, after all.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">So with those thoughts in mind, <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/faculty.php\">we<\/a> <!--more-->wanted to make the case for cross-training in ultrasound.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>EMPLOYER-BASED\u00a0INCENTIVES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1005\" src=\"http:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/learning_ball_newText-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Concept of learning\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/learning_ball_newText-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/learning_ball_newText-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/learning_ball_newText-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>A good employer <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>WANTS YOU to advance<\/strong><\/span> in sonographic <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/category\/quick-concepts\/\">proficiency and skill<\/a>.\u00a0 If you do not feel like they do, it may be time to have a discussion with your supervisor on what <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/examsim.php\">resources<\/a> are available.\u00a0 Quite often, there\u2019s more support than what you see, but it may require you to express interest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Employers have strong motivations to <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/ecourses.php\">develop your expertise<\/a>.\u00a0 Primarily this is because you become more versatile and valuable to them.\u00a0 A secondary factor is the increasing intricacy of reimbursement policies, as they affect sonographic providers.\u00a0 Reimbursements are increasingly being linked to sonographer\/technology <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ardms.org\/get-certified\/Pages\/default.aspx\">specialty certification<\/a>, incentivizing employers to staff themselves accordingly \u2013 preferably with multi-specialty registered sonographers.\u00a0 Lastly by helping you advance in your career, a good employer hopes that a mutually-beneficial bond of loyalty will form.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>PERSONAL\u00a0INCENTIVES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-995\" src=\"http:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/online_replacement1-300x239.jpg\" alt=\"online_replacement1\" width=\"300\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/online_replacement1-300x239.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/online_replacement1-1024x819.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>As much as your employer wants to see you become more versatile and valuable, you should want this even more.\u00a0 Multiple <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ardms.org\/get-certified\/Pages\/default.aspx\">certifications\/registries <\/a>will inevitably <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">lead to higher compensation over time, greater potential for advancement, and make you a more attractive hire<\/span> for prospective employers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Beyond that, you will develop a much greater appreciation for the distinctive challenges associating with the scanning intricacies of different specialties.\u00a0 For example, <a href=\"http:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/?s=artifacts\">different artifacts<\/a> present more frequently in specific circumstances, and your familiarity with these \u201chazards\u201d will <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">give you an edge among your peers<\/span>. Additionally, your confidence and self-assurance will grow as you develop a high level of proficiency in multiple areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>IN CONCLUSION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-875\" src=\"http:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Vietnam_Students-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Vietnam_Students\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>In academia, there is a common refrain among educators trying to achieve tenure or otherwise advance: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Publish_or_perish\"><strong><em>Publish or Perish<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 It speaks to the uncomfortable fact that we each must find ways to distinguish ourselves in a world that increasingly views people as interchangeable parts rather than individuals. While <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/faculty.php\">we<\/a>, at <a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/faculty.php\">Pegasus Lectures<\/a>, remain focused on each person\u2019s specific journey in their ultrasound career, with apologies to professional poets and limericists:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><em><strong>&#8220;Add certs before your career subverts.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/test.pegasuslectures.com\/faculty\/frank_miele.php\">\u2013<strong>Frank Miele, MSEE\u00a0<\/strong>, President of Pegasus Lectures, Inc.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<em>Frank graduated cum laude from <a href=\"https:\/\/home.dartmouth.edu\/\">Dartmouth College<\/a> with a triple major in physics, mathematics, and engineering.
