Friday, Saturday – June 3rd<\/sup> and 4th<\/sup>:\u00a0 <\/strong>Much of Friday was spent working on software while sitting down in the meeting room of the hospital.\u00a0 This room was ideal in that the hospital has very stable power (they have their own generators) and they have access to high speed internet.<\/p>\n

\"\"Today (Saturday) we drove to our second clinic, Nyakatare,\u00a0 This clinic is run by Enos, a Reverend of the Church of Uganda.\u00a0 This clinic is much more advanced than many of the clinics in the region.\u00a0 Interestingly, before the significant advancements made at Bwindi over the last few years, the clinic of Bwindi use to refer patients to this clinic.<\/p>\n

Today Paul was tasked with running his first ever meeting.\u00a0 On Thursday I ran the meeting but warned Paul that since this is his project, he would need to take control.\u00a0 I think everyone was impressed with how well he did, especially considering that he is only 16 years old.\u00a0 With only a little bit of help, he was able to describe ITW\u2019s mission, explain the methodology, communicate our approach, and gather the site preparation information required to plan for training and implementation.<\/p>\n

\"\"Everyone should have the opportunity to work with people like those we have been meeting here in Uganda.\u00a0 Within no time, there is this feeling of being part of a community if not family.\u00a0 The people are very gracious, caring, and appreciative.<\/p>\n

As you can see from the picture, the \u201cnose\u201d made another appearance!\u00a0 We can be very proud of the fact that we are responsible for such high brow entertainment as evidenced by the many pictures (like the one shown) now circulating around Uganda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
