Steven Zimmet, MD begins the Sclerotherapy section by focusing on the diagnostic assessment and modern principles of venous treatment using sclerosants. Various presentations of venous disease are discussed with a focus on determining the source of the reflux and how to obtain the best possible patient outcome. In the second module, Dr. Zimmet discusses common and less common complications of sclerotherapy with an emphasis on technical points to prevent complications and manage treatment when they do occur. The Sclerotherapy ScanLab begins with a review of the patient history and clinical exam which is followed by a demonstration of the different techniques for treating various levels of disease. Dr. Zimmet concludes by presenting techniques to increase patient comfort during and after the procedures.
