The Midwife Sonography (MW) Examination is designed to evaluate the knowledge and sonographic skills of midwives using ultrasound. This exam assesses the female reproductive system and first, second, and third trimesters. In order to earn the Midwife Sonography Certification, candidates must be a certified-midwife and successfully complete two required components, in the following order:
• Part One: Midwife Sonography Computer-Based Examination
• Part Two: Midwife Sonography Practical Examination (cases)
The Midwife Sonography computer-based, written examination is a windowed exam and therefore is only offered during specified times of the year. Once the eligibility requirements and prerequisites have been met (and the application has been approved), candidates may take the computer-based examination. After successfully completing the computer-based examination, candidates must successfully complete the practical examination within two years. The Midwife Sonography Certificate is awarded upon successful completion of both Part One and Part Two of the certification process.

ARDMS Cost: $300 (includes a $100 non-refundable processing fee)
Score Results: Results will be posted approximately 60 days following the close of the examination window. An email will be sent notifying you when score results are posted.
